Let’s celebrate Black History Month. Hear about Africa’s rich heritage through traditional folktales, fables, and myths alongside arts and crafts, wood carvings, handmade instruments, clothing, jewelry, and cultural artifacts. Presented by educator Elizabeth Kahura, a Kenyan native and cultural ambassador for African knowledge. All ages are welcome. Co-sponsored with Algonquin Area Public Library.
Elizabeth Kahura, a Kenyan native who has lived in the United States since 1995, serves as a cultural ambassador for African knowledge. Over the past two decades, her African Safari Program has engaged more than 20,000 audience members. As a storyteller, musician, and teacher, Elizabeth educates and entertains through folklore, music, language, and creative arts.
